The Montessori method
At Learn and Grow we follow the Montessori philosophy of child care and child development.
Children are interested in learning about the world around them and through their natural curiosity are able to develop themselves. By providing an environment that supports natural development,
Montessori education supports children to develop academic, personal, and social skills they need to become happy and fulfilled adults who contribute to society.
Montessori schools promote hands-on, self-paced, collaborative, and joyful learning. The Montessori method encourages children to follow their interests, wherever that passion leads; developing their concentration, self-discipline, independence, initiative, and a lifelong love of learning.
The teacher’s role in the Montessori method is to prepare the classroom and observe and guide children to become confident and independent learners.
Our Principal, is trained at Montessori ELF and has worked in both the Montessori and state educational sector. Our principal works closely alongside Montessori-trained teachers, assistants and classroom helpers to support every child to develop at their own pace.
A School Made for Young Children
Learn and Grow is situated in a beautifully converted spacious home in Mowbray, with a large tree in the front yard, a home away from home. It contains modern sensory play areas to support all aspects of child development.
Most families live near the school and the school attracts a diverse range of children of different languages, cultures, nationalities and religions. We have a wonderful sense of community among the school’s parents and school team. We build our community within the classroom by working together to understand and appreciate each other.
We have a team of trained staff, a structured curriculum, and a caring environment that supports children to achieve their full potential.
We accept children from 10 months and they stay till age 5 or 6 years old.
Our School History
Learn and Grow is the new name of our learning academy established in May 2022, following the transfer of ownership from a Montessori which had been in existence since 2011. With the new name comes an improved approach to ensuring the best experience for everyone involved. We take enormous pride in how we care for children, and each child is supported to develop their skills and grow in confidence and independence.

Learn and Grow Montessori has been our home for just over 6 years. Our kids started at the tender age of 1 years old. From the time of enrolment, it has only been a pleasure. The transition for both parents & our kids has been smooth and so exciting. Our kids are thriving each day alongside their incredible & knowledgeable teachers. The kids are independent, confident & excited to get up to attend school each morning. It is evident evert day when our kids come home that they are learning & getting the most important foundation in the best way possible to adventure out in the real world. I can't recommend this school highly enough. Rejaune and her team are so warm, gentle, and loving and they support each child with their specific needs and interests. They are incredibly flexible and follow the needs of the child, rather than enforcing strict routines or rules. They also support the parents and families beyond the school, providing guidance on the challenges of raising toddlers with big emotions. I have been amazed by the Montessori approach and how my children have thrived. They have learnt so many foundational skills from a young age and take pleasure in accomplishing the tasks of daily life. Our lives are immeasurably better for being part of the school community and knowing that are children are loved and nurtured every day at Learn and Grow. I cannot recommend it highly enough and I cannot imagine our lives without it.

We love love love Learn and Grow Montessori. In only 2 full months, and baby can express herself very well and runs to the teachers every morning. She is very happy there, and we are happy with this school
